PowerFlex 6000 Medium Voltage AC Drives

Our PowerFlex® 6000 Medium Voltage AC Drives allow for flexibility in a variety of applications. They are suited for new and retrofit, variable torque, and constant torque applications. Some of these applications include fans, pumps and compressors that require variable speed motor control from 2.3...11 kV. These drives are available in multiple configurations based on motor voltage and regional requirements.

Reduced Footprint PowerFlex 6000

The PowerFlex 6000 is now available in an all-in-one design from 2.4-4.16kV, 0-215A. The new design provides a competitive footprint with three different frame sizes as shown below:

  • 70A Frame – 47.6” wide
  • 140A Frame – 63.4” wide
  • 215A Frame – 75.2” wide

Additional features of the reduced footprint design include:

  • No rear access required
  • Supports top or bottom line/load cables
  • Surge arrestors are standard
  • 80dB(A) noise level
  • Reduced commissioning time

Synchronous Transfer with PowerFlex 6000

Synchronous transfer is used for controlled starting and speed control of multiple motors—with one drive. The drive can be used for soft-starting large motors to limit inrush current or for speed control of multiple motors.  Synchronous transfer helps to limit the mechanical wear and tear on a motor that prolongs the life of the motor. It also helps reduce the investment and operating costs for the user. Some features include:

  • Available from 2.4…11 kV*
  • Can start up to 10 motors on one drive, maximum of 680 A per motor (totaling up to 3000 A)
  • Simple or advanced transition
  • Bump-less transfer

*Contact factory for voltages above 6.9 kV
