Safety Sensors & Switches

Our Safety Switches and Sensors are designed and built to global standards for high reliability, stability, and quality. Safety sensor products include light curtains, safety edges and mats, and laser scanners. Safety switches include limit and interlock switches.

Safety Light Curtains

Light Curtain Safety Devices

Safety Light Curtains are opto-electronic presence sensing safety devices that detect the presence of an object in the light curtain’s sensing field. Most commonly used in machine guarding applications to detect the presence of a person’s finger, hand, limb or whole body. Also known as AOPDs (Active Opto-electronic Protective Devices), light curtains offer optimal safety. They are ideally suited for applications where personnel need frequent and easy access to a point of operation hazard.

442L Guardmaster SC300 Safety Sensor

442L Guardmaster SC300 Safety Sensor

The Bulletin 442L Guardmaster™ SC300 Hand Detection Safety Sensor is a compact safety sensor system which operates based on image processing technology. The safety sensing function is performed by a single image sensing device viewing a single two-dimensional image against a passive pattern as the background. The detection principle is based on an object of a certain resolution blocking the view of the pattern from the image-sensing device.

Safety Interlock Switches

Safety Interlock Switches

Our Safety Interlock Switches are a means of safeguarding that monitors the position of a guard or gate. You can use them to shut off power, control personnel access and prevent a machine from starting when the guard is open.

Safety Laser Scanners

Safety Laser Scanners

Our Guardmaster® SafeZone™ Safety Laser Scanners are Type 3 opto-electronic devices that protect personnel or equipment by detecting them in its sensing field. Operating on the 'time of flight' principle, the scanners emit pulses of eye-safe infrared laser light over a 190- or 270-degree arc, then receive and process the light reflected off of intrusions in the sensing field to determine the position and distance to the object. When an object is detected, the scanners send a stop signal to the protected machine.

Safety Mats

Safety Mats

MatGuard™ Systems consist of a number of interconnecting pressure-sensitive safety mats and a monitoring control unit that provide a system for area detection. We designed the mats from the 'ground up' to meet the arduous conditions found on the factory floor, and used well-tried components and techniques to be consistent with Category B and Category 1 requirements.

Safety Edges

Bulletin 440F Safety Edges

Our Safety Edges outperform the competition because of their innovative design. They use a combination of non-conductive rubber and flexible wire-cored conductive rubber bonded together so they keep bouncing back into shape even after repeated compressions.

IEC Limit Switches

IEC Limit Switches

Our IEC Limit Switches have electrical interlocking of control circuits to the movement of the units actuator. Switch operation requires physical contact from the moving part of the machinery to the unit's actuator. These units are ideal for applications requiring sensing at either side of a sliding guard door.

802T NEMA Safety Limit Switches

Bulletin 802T NEMA Safety Limit Switches

Bulletin 802T Direct Opening Action limit switches are used for safety applications per ISO 14119. These limit switches have the same mounting dimensions as other NEMA style limit switches. The rugged metal construction and plug-in body are designed for use in harsh industrial environments. Direct opening action assures that the normally closed contacts open when the limit switch is actuated.
