Communication Interfaces

Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O™ Communication Adapter Modules enable the POINT I/O modules to exchange data with an I/O scanner across a communication network. Communication adapters are available for EtherNet/IP™, ControlNet™, DeviceNet™, and other networks.

POINT I/O Modules

Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O™ offers digital, analog, and specialty I/O, as well as POINT Guard safety-rated I/O, with one to eight points per module. You can mix standard and safety I/O in the same system. Comprehensive diagnostics and configurable features make POINT I/O easy to apply.

POINT Guard I/O Modules

POINT Guard I/O™ modules are safety-rated I/O modules designed to fit into the standard POINT I/O™ system, offering automation and safety functionality in a maximum density I/O solution. POINT Guard I/O communicates by using the CIP™ safety protocol over EtherNet/IP™ for GuardLogix™ controllers or DeviceNet™ for SmartGuard™ 600 controllers.

Power Supplies

Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O™ power components expand the POINT I/O system and provide the flexibility to mix a variety of signal types.

Terminal Bases

A Bulletin 1734 Terminal Base Assembly consists of a mounting base and a separate removable terminal block (RTB). The base mounts on the DIN rail. The RTB plugs into the mounting base and provides the terminal locations for field wiring. The POINT I/O™ module plugs into the mounting base above the RTB.
